Since the market of today demands a better and more sustainable product, Maveridge is clearly focused on developing sustainable products for current and future markets. In our view sustainability has a higher calling than ‘just’ eco-friendly actions such as recycling, composting and conservation. It means a deeper connection with our employees, their families and the community at large.

MPS certification

MPS (More Profitable Sustainability)

Our customers favor increasingly sustainable practices and products. They prefer to offer their end-users products that are certified by MPS.

MPS (More Profitable Sustainability) is a world renowned certification entity focusing on sustainability in floriculture. Maveridge has been proudly certified since 2017 at which point forward all our products sold worldwide carry this certification.

At Maveridge, we like to contribute to a better world. Next we are working on upgrading our current certification to MPS Global-Gap!

Hybridizing

Our hybridizing and breeding programs have shifted to a complete focus on sustainable products. Our goal centers on the creation of disease tolerant and disease resistant varieties. 

Solar Power and Wind Energy

Since the year 2022 Maveridge is producing most of its needed electricity through the installation of 1400 Jinco solar panels on the roofs of our buildings. The capacity generated through these panels equals 640,000 Watt-peak which provides 580,000 KWh on a yearly basis. This amount of electricity is equivalent to serving 175 households annually or driving 4 million kilometers ( 2.5 million miles) with a fully electric automobile. In addition, through this effort Maveridge reduces 440,000 kg of Co2 per year.

Recently we finished construction of a smaller version wind power generator, which is now up and running, generating around 85,000 KWh per year.
